Mini Grants


Veterans Monument - BenchThe County of El Dorado, though its Veterans Affairs Commission, devotes a portion of Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) receipts (hotel bed taxes) in support of programs that benefit veterans. These are called “Mini Grants.”

Examples of veteran-focused mini grants include:

  • No Vet Goes Hungry program run by the Food Bank of El Dorado County
  • Support to veterans and their families from the Military Family Support Group
  • El Dorado County Fire Safe Council – assistance to veterans
  • Progress House – substance abuse recovery for veterans
  • Windows to my Soul – equine-assisted PTSI therapy
  • Snowline Hospice – end of life care for veterans
  • Only Kindness – assistance to homeless veterans
  • Assistance to Veterans¬†Resource Centers at Folsom Lake College and at South Lake Tahoe
